Rock and Roll has taken another hit. This time it's close to our home. Dave "Shirt" Nicholls passed today, May 24, 2017.
Shirt had been Slipknot's front of house sound engineer since the Iowa album cycle. He was the tenth member of Slipknot and brought our art to the surface.
We all learned so much from him over the years and shared some of the best times with him while out on the road. Shirt was one of the kindest people you could ever meet. His heart and passion was everything, and he had a smile and laugh that would light up any room.
He was a family man, a good friend, a musician and he dedicated his life to Rock and Roll music. He traveled the world for his love of music and to share his art with millions of people.
There are not enough words to express this loss. Our heart goes out to his family.
We are truly sorry and saddened. We love you, Shirt.

Too horrid to kill for you
Too sordid to die with you
Unstable as always, come down
Everything else is just dust and sound
Too tragic to stay with you
Too static to try for you
These scars, they swallow hard
The part of the past that's hollow and dark
