I'm Ryan Strain, and I'm a singer. Check out my demos on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/RyanStrain
I perform a variety of different styles of vocals, mostly in the metal genre, but with experience in many others. I started getting heavily into learning the art around the summer of 2008, and have been perfecting it ever since. I'm self-taught, and still learning new things every day. I have tons of cool things on my Youtube, so go check it out!
I do silly vocal covers on Youtube as a hobby, and I'm the lead vocalist for Recode the Subliminal.
So, my friends - the vocal booth is officially standing in my house, and it looks better than I imagined. It's already past my bedtime and I need to be up for work in 4 hours, so I'll take more pictures tomorrow. It's not finished, and its definitely not functional yet, but it will be soon in the coming days.
What still needs to be done:
Mounted screen installation
Various cosmetic upgrades
Oh, but we're so close!
Saturday is booth day! And for sure this time. My father-in-law-to-be took on the job and got a carpenter friend of his to join in. That means, it's going to be built right. They're using a sound-proof wood that's used by Boeing, so it's high quality stuff. It'll be lined with thick foam and have a small monitor mounted inside along with my wireless mouse and keyboard, so I don't even have to leave my box until I'm done. I'll post a video and some more details once it's all together.
But with the coming of this new life saver, I've been doing a lot of thinking about how I'm going to approach things this year. I already told you guys about my decision to fully immerse myself in all genres of music that I'm interested in without worrying so much about what people think. This means, while I'm working on all of this original metal music with Sea of Trees, C4TM, Recode, as well as all the paid work I've been taking, I'm going to focus on covering songs that feature my singing more, like pop, gospel, classical, etc. So you'll get to experience a new side of me, while also getting a constant dose of new metal from all the projects I've been taking on.
Now, knowing that I'm going to be releasing so much music this year, it got me thinking about how I'm actually going to get you guys to see it, because, let's face it, Facebook is not a very good tool for musicians anymore. Facebook algorithms prevent most of my followers from seeing my content, and even if they do, it's drowning in a sea of posts and ads from other artists. That's why I want to focus on 2 other options:
The first would be my private blog. I started it back in the summer, and it was great at first, but slowly died off when I ran out of things to update. I think it's time to get that up and running again. For those who don't know, my private blog was started to give a close group of fans an inside look into my life for a one time small fee. They would be updated on everything I'm working on before everyone else, and they would receive free copies of all of my music FOR LIFE, as well as insider stories and access to our 24/7 Skype group. That's a pretty good deal. For anyone interested, I'll post again soon about how to join.
The second option would be free for everyone. I want to start an email subscription. Whenever I post new videos or other content, I would send out an email to everyone in the list, and then finish each month off with a summary of everything that was released.
To make it worth it though, I need as many of you as possible to sign up. So, if you would be interested in joining my email list, please throw a like on this post. I'll do a sponsored post about it when I actually get it started so more people will see it.
Booth delayed again, but with good reason. I'll go over the details when it's done in the next couple of weeks, if I don't die from anxiety before then.
