Kedgrick Pullums, Jr.

Man with a flute, and not afraid to use it.

Kedgrick Pullums, Jr. is a Flute Performance major at the University of Illinois at Chicago where he studies with Donna Milanovich. His past teachers have been Susan Levitan, Nicole Mitchell, Martha Morris and Elizabeth Ko.

Kedgrick has played with the Chicago Sinfonietta, Chicago Jazz Philharmonic, and Classical Symphony Orchestra. He frequently performs with his mentor, Nicole Mitchell, in her Black Earth Ensemble. He is currently a member of Antony Ablan and The Tramps, as well as The Manuscript.

Kedgrick Pullums, Jr. is an up and coming young flautist, composer/arranger, and all around musical mind. His music draws from all over the spectrum, from Romantic composers such as Maurice Ravel and Tchaikovsky, jazz musicians such as John Coltrane and Yusef Lateef, modern artists like Erykah Badu, Coldplay, Karen O., and so much more.

Kedgrick's music does not aim to be simple or "normal". Instead, he tries to create musical moods, feelings, and atmospheres. Highly aesthetic, Kedgrick's music has been described as "dark and brooding at times, light and airy at others".
